Can you top up an inactive prepaid SIM?
Direct answer: sometimes an operator allows credit during a grace or suspended state, but a deactivated, expired or reassigned number may not be recoverable. Check the operator’s current account status before buying; Mirogift cannot guarantee that credit will reactivate a line.
“Inactive” can describe several different conditions

Use the operator account as the source of truth
Ask the recipient to sign in to the official app or web account, check whether the number is still attached, and read the displayed expiry or reactivation instructions. Do not use an old SIM card, number prefix or stored contact alone as proof.
Credit expiry and plan hold are not the same
2degrees says an existing Monthly or 14-day plan can go on hold for three months when credit is insufficient, then renew once enough credit is added during that period. Spark says prepaid credit expires after 12 months and the account may be deactivated without a top-up. These are operator-specific conditions, not universal prepaid rules.

Will any top-up reactivate a deactivated SIM?
No guarantee can be made. Check the exact operator status and instructions first.
Is a plan on hold the same as a closed account?
No. A plan hold can exist while the underlying account remains recoverable under operator rules.
Should I buy a small amount to test the number?
