When does Spark NZ Prepaid credit expire?
Spark says Prepaid account credit expires 12 months after purchase, and the mobile account may be deactivated when no top-up is made during that period. Packs, extras and unused vouchers have separate expiry rules.
Three expiry clocks can apply

A top-up and a data pack answer different needs
Adding Spark credit creates or increases monetary balance. That balance can later be used to buy a pack or extra, but it does not itself define gigabytes, minutes or a plan duration. If the recipient needs a particular allowance, check the current pack in their Spark account before choosing an amount.

Spark credit expiry questions
Does topping up guarantee the SIM remains active?
No blanket guarantee applies. Spark says credit expires after 12 months and the account may be deactivated without a top-up during that period; the account itself shows the current status.
Does a pack last 12 months?
Not necessarily. The 12-month rule concerns Prepaid credit. Each pack or extra has its own expiry and renewal settings.
When does a voucher’s clock matter?
Before redemption. Check that the voucher is still valid, then treat any account credit added as subject to Spark’s account-credit rules.
