International Bitcoin guide

Send a mobile top-up abroad with Bitcoin

Direct answer: the buyer can be in a different country from the recipient. Choose the product by the recipient’s mobile market and current operator, then pay the Mirogift invoice with native BTC on Bitcoin. The recipient does not need a crypto wallet.

Buyer location, recipient location and operator market are different fields

RoleWhat mattersCommon mistake
BuyerCan access BTC on the native Bitcoin network and the Mirogift checkout emailChoosing a product in the buyer’s currency instead of the recipient’s
RecipientHas the eligible prepaid line and can check operator activityAssuming the recipient needs a Bitcoin wallet
OperatorMatches the current service, country and recharge typeChoosing by a familiar brand name alone

Five checks before requesting the Bitcoin amount

  1. Ask for the recipient country and current operator.
  2. Confirm the account is prepaid and the line is active.
  3. Choose account credit or a named plan deliberately.
  4. Keep the local face value visible in the cart.
  5. Select BTC and Bitcoin, then send the exact amount during the 60-minute invoice lock.

Example: buyer in France, recipient in New Zealand

A buyer’s EUR display estimate does not turn a 2degrees product into a European recharge. The cart retains the NZD face value and 2degrees market. The invoice then converts the Mirogift total into exact BTC. After payment, the recipient checks the 2degrees account rather than a Bitcoin wallet.

Common questions

Can I use a country code to identify the operator?

No. Ask the recipient for the current provider; numbers can be ported.

Is Bitcoin Lightning supported here?

No. Mirogift lists native BTC on Bitcoin, not Lightning.

Does paying from abroad change roaming service?

No. A top-up does not establish roaming entitlement or an active roaming plan.
